After 16 months of standstill, life is now returning to the historic Astoria garage in Josefstadt. Alpina Parking is taking over operations – with big plans for the building.

ALPINA Parking, a group of companies active in Austria and Germany, will take over the operation of the historic Astoria Garage from 1918 in the Josefstadt district of Vienna from November 29, 2025. The building, which was converted into a tower garage with 442 parking spaces in the 1930s, is one of the first daylight garages in Vienna and one of the largest and oldest of its kind in Europe.

The Astoria garage in Josefstadt is considered an architectural jewel built in 1918. It was closed in the summer of 2024 and has now reopened with 300 parking spaces.

The traditional Astoria garage in Josefstadt is now open for parking again. A special rate of 10 euros per day is available at the start.

Good news for drivers in Josefstadt: the Astoria garage is reopening with 300 parking spaces. During the first weekend of Advent, a discounted daily rate of 10 euros will be offered.
